TOWER HOUSE STUDIO

The Tower House Studio was designed to sit in the grounds of a Grade A listed, early 16th Century, Scottish tower house. The brief was to provide a space to compliment the tower house's darker interior where traditional small, deep windows let in very little daylight.
The cabin's front elevation is set back and angled to face south, creating a light filled space with four new viewpoints: south to the tower, east across the valley, upwards through a long skylight for star gazing.; a secret stair leads to the rooftop and a panoramic view across the valley . A brise soleil keeps the interior cool on hot sunny days.
