This Stargazer was commissioned by Northumbrian Water for their new holiday development on the banks of Keilder Water. It sits on the edge of the pine forest with a beautiful view across the water and the Northumbrian landscape, the heather moorland and pine forested shoreline.
The little Stargazer is a garden room with a difference and sits at he bottom of the garden of one of the new luxury holiday lodges. Its floor to ceiling window looks out onto Keilder water and its generous skylight looks up to the skies for stargazing by night.
The double doors open onto a spruce lined interior with oak floor, bringing the woodland in. A little Hobbit wood burner sits on a slate hearth and keeps the space cosy, perfect for a chilly evening's stargazing under clear skies. LED lights are set into the skylight's upstand, and are powered by a solar panel .
The exterior is larch clad, and the building sits on 'milk stool' steel legs onto small concrete pads for minimal disturbance to the site.
