Little Bodwin Pyramid Garden Office
The distinctive pyramid roofed building was designed as a garden office for a professional couple on the Isle of Wight. The bright office space has a small kitchenette, wood burning stove and a compact WC, all neatly planned to create an uninterrupted, flexible interior.
The office was delivered to the site complete with all fixtures and fittings, and was craned into position - the steel underframe and supports were designed to sit on the gently sloping site on preprepared slabs. The brise soleil and decking was delivered in prefabricated sections and assembled on site.
Two skylights in the roofs bring in the daylight, along with two large, timber framed, double glazed patio doors and glazed entrance door on the front elevation. The doors access timber decking, with a brise soleil above to provides shade for the interior on the hottest days.
The building is insulated with sheep wool in all walls, floor and each individual pyramid roof. The office is heated with underfloor heating and a small Anevay Traveller wood burning stove. The floor is finished in engineered oak and untreated spruce panels line the walls and inverted pyramid ceilings. The building's larch cladding, decking and brise soleil completes the natural palette.
