Loch Awe Cabins
These two step down cabins were designed to sit on the steep slope behind the newly refurbished Ben Cruachan Inn., Each takes advantage of the stunning views over Loch Awe and the surrounding hills.
The twin buildings are designed to maximise the daylight and views of the loch , with large picture windows . Each one is accessed from the driveway through its own own small ,private courtyard.
The accommodation is on two levels with the entrance on the upper floor where the galley kitchen and shower room are situated . The lower level has a double bedroom . The split level allows the view to be shared on both levels .
The space is lined in spruce panels , with a bamboo floor on the upper level and cosy natural sisal flooring on the lower bedroom .
Sliding doors conceal the shower room which is lined in Richlite's Black Diamond panels, made from recycled post consumer paper . Black fittings create a dramatic but relaxing space. A small wood burner sits centrally on the upper level with a table for two adjacent.
Venetian blinds cover the large windows to allow levels of shade and privacy.
Clad in Siberian larch, the cabins and their private courtyards allow guests to relax in peace and quiet and enjoy the views over the loch and the surrounding hills
The building is super insulated for year round use, with double glazing and thick sheep wool to all walls, roof and floor.
